Understanding how recurrences work
💡 When you set up a recurring booking on MOFFI, the system automates the management of your schedule over the long term. To better understand how your slots are booked and visualized, here are some key concepts.
Understanding the vocabulary
To navigate your schedule management more easily, it is important to distinguish these three terms:
- Recurrence: This is the global rule you define (e.g., "every Monday"). It encompasses all of your upcoming bookings.
- Occurrence: This is a specific instance of your recurrence (e.g., "the booking on Monday, December 12th"). It is the booking of a single slot on a given date.
- Exception: This is an occurrence that you have modified (moved to another time or day) without changing the general rule of your recurrence.
Schedule generation and visibility
MOFFI generates and displays your occurrences over a rolling period (usually up to 9 months in advance). Every week, the system automatically adds the following week to your visible calendar so that your schedule remains complete and up to date.
The availability guarantee
This is a key point: even if a future occurrence is not yet generated or visible in your calendar (because it falls beyond the display period), MOFFI's algorithm already takes it into account.
The system "knows" that this slot is yours via your recurrence rule. It therefore blocks availability for other users, guaranteeing that your spot will be booked when the time comes.
✅ With this system, you are assured that your spot is kept for the long term, while keeping a readable calendar for daily use.
